Welcome to Teac Couminole Café, a hidden gem nestled along the breathtaking Slea Head Drive in Coumeenoole North, Co. Kerry, Ireland. This charming café is more than just a stop for a warm drink; it's a place where the stunning natural beauty of the Irish coastline meets the warmth of local hospitality.

As you approach, the dramatic cliffs and crashing waves promise an unforgettable experience. Inside, you'll find a cozy atmosphere that feels both welcoming and intimate, as if you’ve stepped into a friend’s home. Operating from a kitchen and living room, the owners invite travelers along the coast to enjoy a hot cuppa and some of the finest homemade scones in the area. If the weather permits, why not take a seat in the garden and soak in the magnificent ocean views? And on a lucky day, you might even spot some dolphins frolicking in the waves with the help of binoculars available at the café!

Reviewers like Max Weiss rave about the “absolutely lovely homemade coffee and scone,” emphasizing not only the rich flavors but also the friendly hospitality provided by the owner. It’s the type of place where conversations blossom over steaming cups of coffee and freshly baked treats, creating lasting memories. Meanwhile, Rosalba Johanna recounts her perfect post-hike experience, savoring a delectable lunch while aweing at the cliff landscape. It’s moments like these that remind you why you ventured out here in the first place.

However, not all experiences are flawless; some visitors, like Barry Mollaghan, noted a subpar interaction with the owner during busy times. While this can indeed dampen the mood, the overall atmosphere and setting may still make your visit worthwhile. After all, who can resist the charm of homemade pie that makes you smile, as Kaitlin Petersen describes? Just be sure to bring cash, as it's a cash-only establishment with limited seating—adding to its quaint, exclusive feel.

Whether you’re stopping by after a long hike or looking for a tranquil spot to unwind, Teac Couminole Café delivers more than just food; it offers a slice of the authentic Irish experience. With every sip and bite, you’ll find the true essence of hospitality and community amidst one of the most beautiful backdrops Ireland has to offer. So, make it a point to visit this delightful café on your next adventure along the coast!

After a 4 hour hike from our home, up and down Mount Eagle we arrived at this lovely little spot. It was fabulous- a breathtaking view of the dramatic, spectacular cliff and ocean landscape, the sound of waves crashing in to the cliffs and an enjoyable luncheon! Really recommend this one.

Lovely Views, Great Coffee, but Rude Service I recently visited Teac Couminole Cafe and while the views were stunning and the coffee and apple pie were delightful, my experience was marred by the owner's behavior. Despite being clearly busy and managing everything on her own, her attitude was downright rude. She never even smiled and seemed very grumpy throughout our visit. A little courtesy and a smile go a long way in making customers feel welcome, and unfortunately, this was lacking. It's a shame because the location and food have so much potential. I hope the service improves in the future!!!

Absolutely lovely homemade coffee and scone with an incredibly friendly host. Wonderful view on the ocean and the Great Blasket Island. We also were able to spot some dolphins with Binoculars.

Operating from a kitchen and living room, this family welcomes travelers along the coast drive for a hot cuppa and scones to die for. If the weather is fair, you have a great view from the garden. If not, you are welcome to sit inside next to their hearth. Cash only, limited places, the parking space next to the building holds around five cars.

Fresh coffee and the pie was so delicious-the kind of pie that makes you smile. A beautiful place to find some peace, I really enjoyed chatting with the owner, she’s fantastic. Super affordable as well-definitely hope to return. Bring cash!

Very nice welcoming lady with a wide smile and a great sense of humour. Stunning view from the little terrace, where the tables are. And the homemade apple pie... Oh, gosh, it's melting in your mouth! Absolutely delicious! We got to try the home baked scones as well, but hardly anything can beat that pie!!

Passed by and decided to pull in on a whim. Very glad that we did, had a lovely cup of coffee and homemade scones. The owner was so kind and friendly. It's a small, independent spot and fully deserves support. Just make sure that you have cash as there's no card machine.

AMAZING local little coffee shop! We’re passing by and saw a parking space next to it, the place has it all: a stunning view with mountains and Atlantic sea, great service, tasty home-made goodies (apple pie is the best!), tea & coffee. I felt like I was part of an Irish movie. Cash only
